Common questions
Which year groups do you teach?
Lessons are available for students studying IGCSE English, typically in Years 9 to 11. If your child is younger and building towards IGCSE, get in touch and we can advise on the best starting point.
Which IGCSE exam boards do you support?
Your tutor supports students studying Pearson Edexcel International GCSE English. If your child's school uses a different board, just ask.
Do you teach First Language and Literature?
Yes. Lessons can focus on English Language, English Literature or both, depending on what your child is studying and where they need the most support.
How do online lessons work?
Lessons take place live on Zoom or Google Meet, one to one, so your child gets the tutor's full attention. Interactive whiteboards and documents allow for collaborative work. Each session is 60 minutes, and your tutor will share any resources and feedback digitally so your child has everything they need between lessons.
How often should my child have lessons?
Most students benefit from a weekly lesson, which gives time to practise between sessions. Some choose extra sessions closer to exams. Your tutor will recommend what suits your child after finding out what they need.
What if we're not in Singapore, the UAE or the UK?
Your tutor welcomes students from any country, including the UK. Singapore and the UAE are simply good matches for our daytime hours. Get in touch with your location and your child's school finishing time, and we can let you know what times are available.
Will tutoring guarantee a particular grade?
Tutoring cannot guarantee a particular grade. However, focused support can help students develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and exam technique they need to work towards their goals.
Ready to find a lesson time that works?
Get in touch with your location, your child's year group and when they finish school, and we'll suggest what could work.
